03/01/2008: "Unofficial SXSW Show!"
Dear (Your Name Here),
It's official (in a totally unofficial way). American Mid-Fi has booked a showcase at Ruta Maya (3601 South Congress Ave, Austin TX) on Friday, March 14th. The show starts at 10 PM and it is free, meaning it costs no money to get in, no money having to be spent, with no money for admission. The line-up includes Hao Chiang Chiang, Bridges, Electric Toy Danger, Burywood, Dr. Zoom, and us, but not necessarily in that order.
Now, this is completely free, but that doesn't mean show up without any money. Ruta Maya offers full food and beverage service, there will be a plethora of CDs for low prices, $7 Am-fi T-Shirts, and American Mid-Fi will be accepting any kind donations you are willing to make.
We'd like to make this a Gala-Extravaganza-Must-See event that people know about and the city of Austin remembers, and considering our budget (pretty slim) we need as much grass-roots organization as we can get. We would love your help!If you can mark the date on your calendar, bring a date, bring your friends/family, tell your classmates/co-workers, show them the ads in the Austin Chronicle and Soundcheck Magazine, hold someone ransom and make negotiations on March 14th at Ruta Maya, call the radio, make a poster(s), pull any strings and tell everyone you know/see about this completely free, awesome, beautifully energetic show that they are sure to enjoy and remember and will not want to miss, you will not only forever be part of our family/superhousehold, you will be part of the American Mid-Fi family.
Any suggestions for what songs SXSW goers should hear from SuperHouse (or any band, we will relay the message) are welcome below with the "Comment" link. Email us if you want any more information. More SuperHouse news later. We will be getting new material to you guys soon.
Love,
Doug, SuperHouse
